Streaming services aren’t just for mobile devices or computers. Smart TVs and TV sticks are a great way to watch movies and TV shows on a TV without connecting it to a phone or computer. The Amazon Firestick, like other TV sticks, can stream content from CBS All Access. If you’re unable to get it to work on a Firestick, try the fixes below.

Note: This guide assumes that you’re unable to stream from CBS All Access but everything else is working i.e., you’re able to stream from other channels/content providers.

1. Power cycle everything

In order to stream CBS Access via Firestick, the Firestick much connect to your TV and to a wireless network. Essentially, you have a router, a Firestick, and a TV that need to be power cycled.

Press and hold the power button on the router for 5-10 seconds.
Release the button.
Wait 5-10 seconds.
Press the power button and turn the router on.
Unplug the Firestick and the TV.
Wait 10-15 seconds.
Plug both devices back in and try streaming from CBS All Access.

Clear Firestick cache

The Firestick can sometimes run into problems streaming and clearing its cache is a fix-all in most cases.

Connect the Firestick to your TV and turn it on.
Select Settings using the Firestick remote.
Go to Applications>Manage Installed Applications>CBS.
Select Clear Cache.
Select Clear Data.
Try streaming from CBS.

Reset Amazon Firestick

If clearing the cache doesn’t work, you can reset the Firestick. You won’t lose any data and it’s fairly harmless. You will need to install apps again.

Connect the Firestick to your TV.
Use the remote and select Settings.
Go to My Firestick>Reset to defaults.
Select the Reset option.
Allow the Firestick to reset and add CBS All Access app again.

Conclusion

If you’re using a VPN to stream from CBS, it’s possible the VPN is being blocked. Using a VPN with a Firestick is a complicated process in itself so check to see if everything is set up correctly. Lastly, make sure your subscription is active and check if you’re able to stream from CBS All Access from a desktop system. It is possible the streaming service is having problems of its own in which case you will have to wait for it to be fixed.
